I worked with Jen at Divvy for a couple of years. She was our product and development team's designer. I worked with her on a daily basis to scope work, build designs, conduct customer interviews, and do important research.
We built many features in our time together ranging from a getting started guide to onboard new customers, a new bookkeeper role, and a new authentication service for web and mobile.
Overall, I think Jen is an extraordinary coworker and a phenomenal designer. She's unique because cares deeply about doing a great job, she's driven, and she fosters a positive and loving work environment.
I never got the sense from working with Jen that her job was just a job to her. She cared about our customers and wanted to do right by them in every project we completed together. As a result of caring so deeply and always wanting to do a great job, everything we released was something I was proud of. It's hard to find someone who cares so deeply for their craft.
Jen is also special because she's driven. She approached every day with alacrity. Every project with urgency and excitement. She is a powerhouse and I felt very lucky to have her on my/our team.
One specific example is when we built our authentication service to stave off fraud attacks. We went through every UX on Web and Mobile with a fine-toothed comb to make sure every interaction was delightful. I was blown away by her planning skills and innovation in taking something "solved" such as a login screen, and turning it into something unique and wonderful.
Lastly, I miss working with Jen to this day because she was so positive, caring, and fun. She brought a sense of love and family to our team and everyone always had a smile on their faces after interacting with her. She eventually left my team because she was promoted. Although I was very proud of her, I was also crushed because I enjoyed working with her so much.
Overall, you'd be a fool to not go with Jen. She's truly special and will take your team to the next level. If you have any additional questions or would like me to expand on what I've said here, I'd be more than happy to at any time.
